Ambassador Committee

Mission

The Ambassador Committee is dedicated to increasing the retention and engagement of new and existing Chamber members. Ambassadors work closely with the Membership Director to provide training, communication, and support, ensuring members experience the full benefits of Chamber involvement.

Objectives

  • Encourage member participation in Chamber programs, events, and committees.

  • Serve as a key communication link between members and Chamber staff.

  • Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships within the business community.

Membership

  • Must be a Chamber member in good standing.

  • Attend Ambassador meetings and complete an orientation before representing the Chamber.

  • Make outreach visits and calls to deliver membership new and renewal packets.

  • Follow up with new members, guiding them through engagement opportunities and forming a ‘buddy’ connection.

  • Attend Grand Openings and Ribbon Cuttings to support new members.

  • Participate in Chamber events and mentor new Ambassadors.

Ambassador Renewal Packet

  • Held on the 4th Tuesday of every month, providing an opportunity for Ambassadors to connect, enjoy lunch, and collect new member and renewal packets for distribution.

  • Packets must be delivered to assigned members before the next meeting.

Grand Openings / Ribbon Cuttings

  • Attend and celebrate new businesses joining the Meridian Chamber community.

Events

  • Participate in Chamber networking events such as First Friday and Business After Hours.

  • Assist with event registration and setup at Chamber functions.

Rewards and Recognition

  • Ambassador of the Month – Recognized at each meeting with a certificate, gift card, and social media spotlight.

  • Ambassador of the Year – Awarded to the individual who is most dedicated to the Chamber by consistently attending events, volunteering, delivering packets in a timely manner, speaking highly of the Chamber, and providing leads to the Director of Member Services. This individual will be honored at the Chamber's Man & Woman of the Year Luncheon.

Ambassador Benefits

  • Official Ambassador Name Badge (awarded after three months of active participation).

  • Invitation to an exclusive end-of-year Ambassador appreciation event.

Becoming an Ambassador

  • Complete and submit an application.

  • Application reviewed by the Membership Director and Ambassador Co-Chairs.

  • Candidates are evaluated based on professionalism, application details, and Chamber involvement.
